What is Royston Book Fair?
Royston Book Fair (part of the annual Royston Arts Festival) is a celebration of local, talented authors who have achieved the remarkable feat of getting a book out into the world. It's an opportunity for writers to showcase their books, to meet fellow authors and - importantly - find new readers!
This year's event will be held in Royston Parish Church on September 27th, 2025, from 12pm-4pm.
Who can apply to take part?
Anyone who has published a book can apply for a table at the fair. Traditionally or independently published, even if you've only got one book; we want to celebrate writers in an inclusive and friendly environment, so all are welcome!
In the event that we have more authors apply than we can accommodate we will curate the line-up to ensure a balance of genres, topics and styles. Preference will be given to authors local to Royston.
Is there a charge to take part?
There is no charge to participate in Royston Book Fair, for either readers or writers.
What equipment will I need?
By booking a place at the fair, you'll get a table and a chair. Bring your books, posters, flyers, banners, bookmarks... whatever you like to tell the world about your writing. We are happy for you to sell copies of your books but we're equally happy if you just want to come along and promote eBooks... or simply meet readers and talk to fellow writers.
Can I give a reading, or a talk?
We hope to provide an opportunity for some participants to give a reading and/or talk - these will be booked separately, nearer the time.
How do I apply?
Fill in the application form here before 23:59 on June 13th 2025. We will reply to let you know if you have been successful by July 1st 2025.
